Loaves & Fishes Program Director
Reporting to the Loaves and Fishes Board of Trustees, the Program Director will be responsible for the operational success of Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in alignment with strategic objectives established by the Board. The individual will ensure seamless volunteer and staff management and development, program delivery, quality control and evaluation. Additionally, in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, the Program Director will serve as a representative of the organization within the larger community and will work to establish external relationships to further our mission.
The Program Director will oversee the planning and management of all day-to-day operations and programming in accordance with the strategic direction, mission, vision, and policies set by the Board of Trustees and will ensure the progress and development of the organization’s programs and the supervision of all staff members and volunteers. This full time managerial position is an on-site position and requires schedule flexibility to ensure that the director is present during all operating hours of the pantry for both food access and for our other programs and services.
The Program Director must have the ability to engage, lead and develop personnel and volunteers. They must have the ability to be largely self-directed, multitask, team, problem solve effectively, and employ strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Serve as an effective spokesperson for the organization, communicating Loaves and Fishes’ purpose and programs to the public

Monitor all programs and projects to insure maximum effectiveness and compliance

Attract, develop, motivate, and retain volunteers and staff

Oversee the development of new programs and evaluate existing programs to determine efficiencies, inadequacies, and sustainability

Guide and manage the work of the Pantry and Operations manager including conducting regular reviews and annual performance evaluations

Guide and coordinate the work of all contractors and vendors

Team with the Board of Trustees in planning and developing long range goals, objectives, and priorities of the organization.
Financial Development and Management:

Team with the Board in preparing annual and program budgets and ensuring that the organization operates within budget guidelines

Collaborate with the Development Committee and Events Planning Committee to create and execute an annual fundraising plan to support budget goals

Support the organization in the execution of special events
Operations:

Work with the Board Secretary to maintain official records and documents

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations

Team with the Board to develop and administer operational policies and guidelines

Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services in conjunction with the Communications Committee including food supply, access, and distribution

Oversee the maintenance of a database accounting for all food processed through the pantry

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of Loaves and Fishes facilities including buildings and ground, interior spaces, technology and phone systems, and equipment, ensuring a consistently safe, clean and dignified experience for both clients and volunteers

Actively participate in the daily operations of the pantry to include help, if needed, unloading food deliveries. cleaning and organizing the food pantry, and supporting food transportation and deliveries

Develop, schedule, organize and evaluate a robust curriculum and classroom support program
Communications and Board Relations:

Respond to all inquiries (email, phone, social media, in-person) regarding the organization and its programs in a professional and timely manner

See that the Board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it and make constructive recommendations to the board to improve the organization

Assist the Board leadership in planning the agenda and materials for Board meetings

Support Board committees as an ex-officio member, as appropriate

Provide a monthly written status report to the board
Compensation: $45,000 plus benefits
