Charlie and his wife Samm moved to Hancock County in 1995 and currently reside in Prospect Harbor, where they tend a large vegetable garden and raise chickens. Charlie brings 20+ years of private, non-profit management experience to Loaves & Fishes.

Andy and her husband Tom, both retired educators, made the permanent move from Georgia to Maine in 2011. Andy connected with Loaves and Fishes as a pantry volunteer in 2012 and has served as Board President since 2018.


Max Dietshe

Max recently retired from a career in corporate communications and user experience design to work on marketing and development for the pantry. He and his wife, novelist W.S. Winslow, moved full-time to their Trenton "camp" in 2019.

Betsy retired as a specialist for the blind and visually impaired in New York City and found a new life in Maine in 2012. Betsy came to Loaves & Fishes via St. Andrew Lutheran's long service and affiliation with the pantry.

An ex-scientist and retired lawyer, Christine enjoys sailing, tennis, painting and judging science fairs.

Clyde Cushing
Ellsworth
Clyde is a Special Education Teacher working in the younger grades. He's a community member who has served as a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, as well as a member of the Ellsworth Rotary Club. A trustee since 2016, Clyde enjoys golf and the outdoors in his downtime.

Mary Doherty
Ellsworth
A former RN, Mary spends time in retirement as a grandmother, Master Gardener Volunteer and greeter at MDI's Land and Garden Preserve. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors hiking, kayaking, camping and XC skiing.

Debra Gillespie-fowles
Ellsworth
A retired housing coordinator and case manager, Debra grew up in Massachusetts and lived in Guilford for almost 25 years before moving to Ellsworth. She is a tireless volunteer for the pantry.

Pantry Manager
Lamoine
A retired mechanical contractor, Ken and his wife Pam, a retired Special Ed teacher, moved to Lamoine in 2015. He's been a pantry volunteer, trustee and manager since 2016.

Mario Panaro
Ellsworth
Born way down south (in Connecticut), Mario grew up in Bucksport and now serves as Finance Manager at Darling's Chevrolet. When not working and volunteering at the pantry, he enjoys spending time with family and a menagerie of dogs, cats and hamsters.

Ellsworth
Born and raised in Ellsworth, Rhonda retired after 23 years working for the state of Maine. She currently works part-time and serves as treasurer and volunteer for several area non-profits.

Tracy Shaffer
Ellsworth
Tracy moved to Ellsworth after retiring from Verizon post a 25+ year career. An ordained deacon in The Episcopal Church, Tracy remains an active Rotarian after serving as President of the Ellsworth club in 2018-19.

Sonnie fulfilled her lifelong dream of moving to Maine in 2014 after 23 years of teaching amazing sixth graders in Ohio. She parlayed a former broadcasting career into a job as News Director at Star 97.7 Radio in Ellsworth, which is where she first became familiar with Loaves & Fishes. Volunteering at the pantry is her favorite time of the week!

Muffet and her husband, Doug, moved to Maine from Philadelphia in 2017. She has 50 years' experience as a bookkeeper and Parish Administrator and is currently the Parish Administrator at two churches on MDI. In her off time she enjoys kayaking and volunteering at area non-profits, including Loaves & Fishes and Everybody Eats.

Born and raised in Maine, Rebecca has worked in finance and sales at Darling's Chevrolet for the past four years. She joined the pantry board this year to help give back to the community.
